Superior Technical Services Conducts PreVen Online Testing for Critical Safety Valves at Zohr Field

In 2024, Superior Technical Services (STS), a division of Superior Group, successfully performed PreVen online testing on critical safety valves at the Zohr gas field, operated by Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel). This operation is part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety and efficiency in Egypt’s largest offshore natural gas field.

The Zohr field, located in the Shorouk block in the Mediterranean Sea, is a significant contributor to Egypt’s natural gas production, with investments planned to expand its output further.

PreVen online testing allows for in-situ assessment of safety valves without necessitating a shutdown, ensuring continuous operation while verifying valve performance. This method offers several advantages:

• No Production Loss: Valves are tested under operational conditions, eliminating the need for system downtime.

• Cost Savings: Avoids the expenses associated with disassembling valves and halting production.

• Accurate Diagnostics: Provides precise data on valve performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
