Superior Technical Services Conducts Comprehensive Valve Assessment at Delta Fertilizer

In 2023, Superior Technical Services (STS), a division of Superior Group, partnered with Delta Company for Fertilizers and Chemical Industries to execute an extensive evaluation of over 600 valves at their Talkha facility in Dakahlia, Egypt.
Delta Fertilizer, a prominent player in Egypt’s chemical fertilizer industry, operates multiple plants, including Talkha I and Talkha II, producing Ammonium Nitrate and Prilled Urea, respectively.
To minimize operational disruptions, STS deployed its state-of-the-art mobile valve workshop directly to the Delta Fertilizer site. This fully equipped unit enabled the STS team to perform on-site mechanical assessments, including leak tests, flow tests, and comprehensive inspections of both control valves and actuated on/off valves.
The scope of work encompassed:
• Leak Testing: Ensuring valve integrity by detecting and measuring any unintended fluid passage, adhering to industry standards such as ANSI/FCI 70-2.
• Flow Testing: Verifying that each valve met the required flow parameters to maintain optimal process performance.
• Comprehensive Inspection: Assessing the mechanical condition of valve components, including actuators, positioners, and seals, to identify wear or potential failure points.
Upon completion of the evaluations, STS provided detailed mechanical status reports for each valve, offering Delta Fertilizer critical insights into the operational health of their equipment. This proactive maintenance approach is essential for preventing unexpected failures, enhancing safety, and optimizing production efficiency.
